Arrival for the U12 age group is on Saturday by 09:30 AM (Groups A–D) or by 02:30 PM (Groups E–H). The tournament concludes on Sunday after the main award ceremony at 05:30 PM.
Arrival for the U10 age group is on Monday by 09:30 AM. The tournament day ends after the main award ceremony at 06:00 PM.
For many teams, 1–3 overnight stays are required. Suitable options include the Leonardo Hotel Heidelberg (within walking distance), the Meininger Hotel Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (with group rooms), or the Jugendherberge Heidelberg (most affordable option).
Matches are played in the sports halls of the Sportzentrum Süd in Heidelberg-Kirchheim. The address for your navigation system/Google Maps is: Pleikartsförster Straße 130, 69124 Heidelberg.
By car from the highway, coming via Speyerer Straße, turn right towards HD-Kirchheim Nord/Sportzentrum Süd. At the roundabout near ADAC, take the third exit and follow the signs to the “Sportzentrum Süd” parking area on the right-hand side. Please note: observe parking regulations (parking disc required)! Finally, walk approximately 100–200 meters to the respective sports hall.

In the entrance areas of the Alte Halle, you will find our merchandise stand, and in the entrance area of the Neue Halle, the large basketball store of our partner Basket Factory. At the merchandise stand in the Alte Halle, you can pick up your pre-orders and secure your own SGK New Year’s Cup ball. Of course, in both halls you will also have the opportunity to get your hoodie or T-shirt from the SGK New Year’s Cup 2027 collection.
Did you know that old basketballs can be turned into unique bags, wallets, and much more? Secure your one-of-a-kind item at the basketball upcycling stand in the entrance area of the Neue Halle.
As a special memory of the first tournament of the year, each team will have a scheduled photoshoot. Team photos as well as individual photos of all players and coaches will be taken. Our photographers will also be present during the games to capture the basketball stars of tomorrow in action. All photos will be made available after the tournament.
The SGK New Year’s Cup aims to provide an unforgettable basketball experience that inspires young athletes and strengthens their passion for this great sport.
